Negotiations Update: We are starting the second year of a three-year contract but that doesn’t

mean the UF has stopped negotiating for faculty working conditions and compensation. The UF

and 4CD negotiations teams have scheduled three meetings for the first half of the fall semester;

Sept 19th, Oct 10th, and Oct 17th, and we will meet to discuss compensation a few more times as

the State’s and District’s finances are a little more clear now. We are close to finalizing our work

from spring negotiations and summer workgroups (coaches, DE, etc.) and the details of this work

will be shared in our “joint communication” later this semester.

Please join me in welcoming our new Part Time Faculty Advocate Sandra Gardiner!

Sandra joined the E-Board this year and has already hit the ground running! She started as a DVC

nighttime/weekend student, then years later came back to DVC first as Supplemental Instruction

Leader, then as the tutoring coordinator for the DVC San Ramon Campus, and eventually in 2015

she became a part-time instructor at DVC in ESL. She is also the new ESL Coordinator at Napa

Valley College.
