Dear Colleagues:
We hope you are doing well and settling back in after a long holiday weekend. Nominations for open seats on the United Faculty Executive Board are being accepted until noon on February 25, 2025 and DVC is offering evaluation trainings today, and next week on Tuesday & Wednesday. See below for more information.
According to our UF Elections Handbook, when an E-Board vacancy becomes available or prior to the end of a term of office, the UF will make an announcement in its newsletter and will include a nomination form and a timeline for submitting candidacy.
Faculty who wish to submit their candidacy must deliver to the UF office (DVC- FO-121) a completed paper nomination form, including signatures from ten UF members (or when using an electronic nomination form, the names and email addresses of ten UF members who have agreed to support the candidate’s nomination sent via email to uf@uf4cd.org), before the posted deadline, which is noon on February 25, 2025.
Vacant positions beginning in Fall 2025:
Two DVC Full-time seats; 2 Part-time seats
One LMC Full-time seat; 1 Part-time seat
The election timeline is as follows:

THAT’S A GOOD QUESTION
Do I need to take the BEOI class to teach a hybrid or synchronous online class? Yes. If you have not taken the BEOI class, you are not eligible to teach a class that has any online requirement for students. This includes many hybrid and synchronous online classes. Check GROW@4CD in InSite to register. The next BEOI course begins March 31, 2025.
Our next Executive Board meeting is Thursday, from February 20 , 2:45-5:30.
Upcoming meetings: March 6 , April 19 , May 1 , May 15
We welcome public comments from 2:45-2:55 and attendance for the first part of our meeting. Please join us to make a public comment and / or to hear about what is going on during our general session time.
To attend remotely, please email Lorena in the UF Office for the meeting zoom link: uf@uf4cd.org.
Our conference this year is scheduled for Friday, May 2, 2025. More information on how to register in the coming weeks.
And as always, if you have questions, comments or suggestions about anything related to negotiations or working conditions, contact the UF Office at 925-680-1771 or just reply to this email. We value your input!
