Dear Colleagues:
We hope you are having a good week so far! Don't forget that daylight savings, spring forward, happens this weekend! Below, sign up for our annual UF/FACCC Annual Benefits Conference, May 2, 2025, or the next Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Representative training offered live on Zoom Wednesday, March 5, from 1:00-4:00pm. More exciting news: timecards will be moving to digital form soon!
This conference is open to all faculty (full and part-time) and other employees of the district. Come learn about benefits for active employees and for during retirement.
A continental breakfast will begin at 8:30am and lunch will be provided midday. Vendors will be available at tables in the morning and during lunch.
Registration is NOW available at UF/FACCC Benefits & Retirement Conference
The District Human Resources Department is again offering Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Representative training, live on Zoom Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm. (The next training will be in the Fall semester, Thursday, September 4, 2025, 1:00-4:00pm)
You should sign up for training if you have not already completed it and you plan to serve as the EEO Representative on a faculty hiring committee.
All faculty hiring committees must include one EEO Representative (a manager for full-time faculty hires and a faculty member for part-time faculty hires).
EEO Representatives can still be voting members of their committees, but they agree to act as liaison to our HR Department and to advise their fellow committee members, as needed, on EEO best practices. REGISTER FOR the EEO TRAINING HERE
We want to thank those who have shown interest in serving the faculty by committing time to the UF Executive Board. DVC’s part-time seats did not receive new nominations; therefore, Renato Escudero and Noelle Leong will continue to serve in those roles. Thank you for your voices.
We still have vacant seats to fill for Fall 2025:
One DVC Full-time seat
One LMC Full-time seat; 1 Part-time seat
Please contact us if you have questions or are interested in serving.

Upcoming Events:
California Great Teachers Seminars, 2025: A high energy and powerful summer retreat that brings faculty together in search of the “great teacher” within themselves. With no experts or keynote speakers, the seminar is based on the principle that faculty are the experts in teaching and learn best from one another. Whether you teach full-time or part-time, are a veteran teacher, or are new to the profession, the seminar gives you a unique opportunity to reflect on what great teaching is all about.
San Diego, CA | June 8 - 12 [ Scholarship application DUE April 30, 2025]
Monterey, CA | August 3 - 7 [Scholarship application DUE May 10, 2025]

Do I need to take the BEOI class to teach a hybrid or synchronous online class? Yes. If you have not taken the BEOI class, you are not eligible to teach a class that has any online requirement for students. This includes many hybrid and synchronous online classes. The next BEOI course begins March 31, 2025. Check GROW@4CD in InSite to register.
